Meljac and Studio Pluriel join forces to create the Studio collection

Meljac and Estelle Matczak, founder of the artisans’ collective Studio Pluriel, are combining their talent to propose a series of pieces that blend functionality and artistic design. The Studio collection, which currently features seven solid brass models, draws on Estelle’s specialist know-how in torched patina effects and etching. Thanks to Meljac’s expertise, the patterns created by this talented artist are now available on switches, bringing a unique artistic dimension to interior fittings.

A meeting of minds

It was during a professional trade fair that the artist Estelle Matczak met Meljac’s co-founder, Florence Bousquet. For so long, she admired the brand’s universe, and the idea of collaboration has begun. The two women, who share the same values and love for craftsmanship, decided to bring the idea to life through a range of unique models. The project got under way and the magic began to happen.
After a year of fruitful cooperation and creative exploration, the Studio collection was finally launched.

The Studio collection: exquisite switches

Meljac, the leading French manufacturer of luxury electrical fittings, has embraced the torched patina effect, a rare technique used by Estelle Matczak at Studio Pluriel. The raw brass plate is oxidised and turned into a unique object, a subtle, nuanced work of art.
The expertise of Meljac’s teams comes in the brass machining process and in fitting mechanisms such as toggles, push buttons and sockets to the plates.
The seven screwless models are available in several formats (single, twin, triple, etc.), with or without chamfered edges.
Estelle Matczak and Meljac are also able to pool their know-how to produce bespoke

Studio Pluriel, design and poetry

For the past 15 years, Estelle Matczak has applied her creativity to the rare techniques of torched patina finishes and etching. She designs high-end, bespoke wall-mounted creations for architecture projects, working with both companies and individuals. Her quest for excellence and the varied projects she works on mean that she is constantly reinventing her practice and using her creative approach to come up with new textures. Keen to promote other artisanal professions and offer a wider range of creative techniques, she established Studio Pluriel in 2021. She was soon joined by Pierre Oscariz. Like Estelle, he wanted to provide specifiers with both quality craftsmanship and a creative vision.
Today Studio Pluriel is a design studio with six artisans, a creator, a 3D designer and a project manager.
Estelle is a creative mediator who draws on the expertise of Studio Pluriel’s artisans to propose innovative combinations of materials for interior design projects, furniture and objects.
