Partner in the new Par Excellence showroom
MELJAC, a partner in the new Par Excellence showroom designed by Thomas Pheasant in New York
MELJAC is exhibiting a series of models created for the showroom of the Par Excellence collective in New York, United States. Par Excellence, composed of 11 renowned French artisans, approached the famous US designer Thomas Pheasant to devise a unique scenography that would showcase the expertise of each member.
Located in central Manhattan, “344 Bowery” is a unique space reflecting successful collaboration between US design and French artisanal craftsmanship.
Showcasing French expertise in the United States
The aim of the venue is to help develop France’s visibility and reputation in the field of artisanal craftsmanship. Visitors are immersed in a cocoon of luxury and calm, far removed from the bustle of the busy neighbourhood outside. The venue, which features a bright, spacious living room, a dining room and two material libraries, won the prize for showroom of the year at the NYCxDesign Awards in New York on 18 May.

Switches and sockets that offer a perfect finishing touch
Echoing the soft, warm tones of the furniture and decorative elements designed by each member of the collective, MELJAC’s custom switches and sockets offer an elegant finishing touch, with solid brass models sporting the Medium Bronze finish.
The products all bear the prestigious “Origine France Garantie” label, combining precision tools with a human touch and drawing on a variety of techniques applied throughout the 15 stages in the production process (machining, engraving, patina finish, polishing, surface treatment, assembly, etc.).
Par Excellence, an ambassador of French expertise in New York
The collective, founded in 2016 by Charles Jouffre, is composed of artisans with unparalleled expertise. The aim is to support designers and architects as they embark on audacious projects. Over the years, Par Excellence has come to be recognised as representing the best of French craftsmanship. It now has 11 members: Atelier de Ricou, Ateliers Jouffre, Ateliers Lison de Caunes, Ateliers Saint Jacques, Auberlet et Laurent, Delisle, Henri Technologies, Maison Meljac, Manufacture de tapis de Bourgogne, Ozone and Souchet.
