The “Pupitre”, an innovative bespoke model

Similar to its “Z” control panel, the MELJAC Console was designed as a bespoke product in response to a request from the Mandarin Oriental.

The luxury Parisian hotel chose MELJAC for its ability to create a unique piece developed specially for its Penthouse, the “Parisian Apartment”. The “Pupitre”, fixed to a rotating base in bedside tables, is the result of a three-month R&D project. It features between 8 and 12 square Damier buttons for lighting controls, blinds, etc., some with LED back-lighting and engravings. Depending on the format, a “Pupitre” can contain a combination of switches, sockets, USB and data ports, dimmers and other mechanisms. It is fully customisable with 30 finishes to choose from and the option of adding decorative features such as engravings and LEDs.

The Mandarin Oriental also drew on MELJAC’s unique combination of skilled craftsmanship and advanced technology to fit all of its rooms with MELJAC switches and sockets made of brass with a Medium Bronze finish.
